Custom Coating
One of the many things I got into while working on my project car is powder coating. I love the look and durability of powder coated parts and I found that it's not all that difficult to do with the right tools. I have an old electric oven I use to bake the coating on, so anything that will fit in there can be coated. I also have a glass bead blasting cabinet and a pressurized sand blaster for prep work. If you need any small parts coated and you're in the area (Phoenix, AZ) feel free to shoot me an e-mail. I order all of my powders from Columbia Coatings . I have a wide selection of their product available and can order any colors I don't have for special projects.
Here are a few samples of things I've coated:
black chrome
candy orange
chrome
harbor freight brand powder black and red (not as shiny as Columbia Coatings powder)
super mirror black
crinkle black
super mirror blue
The final piece is actually coated with ceramic chrome paint from Columbia Coatings, it's very similar to Jet Hot coating and can be polished to a high gloss like aluminum (the steering box is cast iron so it is very porous and cannot be polished).
